e-IDSR Weekly Epidemiological Bulletin: Epi-Week 30 (24 – 30 July, 2023)

  • A total of 627 suspected cases of Cholera were reported, with 43 of those samples tested and confirmed to be caused by V. cholerae 01 Ogawa.
  • Acute Jaundice Syndrome, Dysentery, Meningitis, Whooping cough, Neonatal tetanus, Diphtheria, and Typhoid were not investigated due to limited resources.
  • There are currently 2 confirmed disease outbreaks in Somalia, with AWD/Cholera and Measles being the two diseases.
  • There are currently five suspected diseases listed, including leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, neonatal tetanus, COVID-19, and yellow fever. Rabies, measles, typhoid, and whooping cough are also being investigated.
  • There have been 21 maternal deaths and 108 new cases of ILI in the past week.
